Stop 1: OMV’s ReOil® Plant – Schwechat
OMV’s ReOil® pyrolysis plant, successfully started up in March 2025, has a processing capacity of up to 16,000 metric tons of hard-to-recycle plastics per year. The ReOil process contributes to more sustainability through the production of circular, virgin-quality feedstocks for plastics production. OMV’s proprietary ReOil technology is expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 34% compared to plastic waste incineration.
Stop 2: Waste2Value Research Plant – Simmeringer Haide
Next, visit the innovative Waste2Value site, where research and technology converge to produce hydrogen-rich synthesis gas—the foundation for CO₂-neutral green fuels. Developed in cooperation with BEST – Bioenergy and Sustainable Technologies, this site showcases a novel gasification process chain, pushing the boundaries of waste-to-fuel conversion. Operating since spring 2022, this 1 MW research plant is located at Wien Energie’s hazardous waste incineration facility and is part of a vision to scale up for the production of up to 10 million liters of green fuel annually, potentially reducing 30,000 tons of fossil CO₂ emissions each year.

Please note that the starting point is directly in Vienna (OMV refinery, Mannswörther Straße 28, 2030 Schwechat) and NOT at the conference hotel in Prague. Transfer to the conference hotel in Prague at the end of the technical tour is included. Participants of the technical tour are kindly asked to do their travel planning accordingly.
