 ^Accompanying persons will not have access to conference sessions or coffee and lunch breaks from 10–13 May 2020. However, they are welcome to join conference participants for the social events (i.e. Welcome Reception on Sunday evening, Conference Dinner on Monday evening, and special social programs for accompanying persons on Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon).

 

*The deadline for early registration is midnight (Central European Summer Time) on 25 March 2020.

 

Please note that the registration fee includes the scientific program fee and the social program fee. The scientific program fee is not liable to VAT according to German tax law § 4 No. 22a UStG. The social program fee will be taxable according to:

  • Companies located in Germany: 19 % German VAT applies. Please provide your company's VAT No. during registration.
  • Companies located in other EU countries: German VAT does not apply. Please note that reverse-charge procedure applies. Please provide your company's VAT No. during registration.
  • Companies located outside EU: German VAT does not apply.
  • Individuals and participants from scientific organizations: 19 % German VAT applies.

General Social Program includes:

  • Welcome Reception on 10 May 2020
  • Conference Dinner on 11 May 2020

Accompanying persons:

Accompanying persons are welcome to join conference participants at the Welcome Reception, the Conference Dinner and Technical Tour (registration required). There are special Social Programs for accompanying persons on Monday and Tuesday in Shanghai.

 

On-site-registration:

On-site registration will start on Sunday 10 May 2020, 18:00 at the JW Marriott Shanghai Hotel at Tomorrow Square.

 

Registration information:

Take advantage of the lower registration fee until 25 March 2020.

Only registration made via our webshop will be accepted. Accepted payment methods include credit card payment and bank transfer (please note that bank transfer is only possible for Germany). For bank transfer, payment must be made in EURO after receiving the invoice.

For cancellations received before 15 April 2020, a handling fee of 150 EURO will be deducted from the refund. No refund will be possible after 15 April 2020.

Substitution of conference participants may be made at any time by notifying the conference office. If the substitute participant does not meet the same discount requirements as the registered participant, the difference will be charged. Please notify the conference organizing office of any name changes of participants in advance.

The conditions for cancellation after 15th April 2020 also apply to registered participants who cannot attend the event due to last minute changes in plans.

 

Conference hotel:

The conference hotel JW Marriott Shanghai Hotel at Tomorrow Square will be reserving rooms for conference participants until 31 March 2020 (while availability lasts).

Room bookings can be made directly with JW Marriott Shanghai Hotel  per telephone or per web link, which will be available on September 2019. To enjoy the special conference rate, please indicate the booking code "International Freiberg Conference" while carrying out your room reservations.

 

Conference proceedings:

A conference abstract book will be provided to each conference participant. All presentations will be published on the conference archive website with the ISSN 2363-8702. For more information, please refer to author’s guidelines.

 

Visa application:

Please indicate during the registration process if you require a letter of invitation to apply for a China VISA. Please inform yourself if you require a VISA to enter China on the webpage of the local China Embassy in your home country.

Invitation letters will only be issued following successful registration via our webshop (for credit card payment). Please note that for payment via bank transfer,  invitation letters can only be issued after we have received an email with a scan verifying the bank transfer.

 

Language:

The conference language is English. Translation service is not available.
